The Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation (EKTIFA), affiliated with the Department of Agriculture and Animal Wealth, signed a contract granting Inntro Agrar Company the supply of the second batch of cows from the Maliha Dairy Farm, estimated at 1,300 cows; carrying the natural and non-genetically modified A2A2 genes. The contract was signed by His Excellency Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation (EKTIFA), and Cuneyt Kocakulak, General Manager of Inntro Agrar Company, in the presence of His Excellency Salem Al Kaabi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Animal Wealth, and a number of senior officials from both sides.
The agreement stipulates that Inntro Agrar will supply 1,300 Danish Holstein A2A2 cows, inseminated with A2A2 genes and carrying females. The cows will be delivered via aircraft equipped with all the necessary health and nutritional requirements, insured, and conforming to all specifications and medical examinations approved for shipping and importing cows in the UAE. His Excellency Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation (Iktifa), said: In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, we continue to establish the nucleus herd at the Maliha Dairy Farm, which consists of 5,000 cows, all of which carry the A2A2 genes. The herd is selected for being a purebred, non-genetically modified breed that grew up in natural, open pastures, which gives the herd cows great immunity and low exposure to diseases, which contributes to the production of organic milk and its derivatives, which are easy to digest and will reach consumers in their natural form. He added: The Emirate of Sharjah seeks to proceed with steady and continuous steps in producing healthy, safe and sustainable food in a unique experience in major strategic food projects, to be a milestone in achieving nutritional health and self-sufficiency, noting that a contract was signed with "Inntro agrar", due to its extensive experience in this field, which enabled it to achieve all the requirements and specifications that are in line with the Sharjah Strategy for Healthy and Safe Food. For his part, Cuneyt Kocakulak, General Manager of "Inntro Agrar", said: We are pleased to cooperate with the Government of Sharjah in achieving its strategy to produce healthy and safe food, according to the best international practices, noting that the cows provided to the Maliha Dairy Farm are distinguished by producing milk containing the protein beta casein A2A2, which is of great importance from the health and nutritional aspects, which is in line with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, to provide healthy and safe food, which is one of the priorities of the Emirate of Sharjah.
